Day 3: Wax Museum, The Peak

Super cold winds at the Peak. WC gave me his windbreaker. I wonder why he did that! I was wearing enough actually, and he was only wearing two layers.

Madam Tussauds, Hong Kong

Hur hur hur... E = MC(2) now debatable! Scientists have recently found a ground breaking discovery that could refute Einstein's greatest discoveries. FTL neutrinos have been proven (in two experiments) that they travel faster than light! Check out these crazy research reports.

WC did a fantastic job in parodying Gaga's appetite for eccentric costumes.

WC & his sis were super posers. Impromptu yet creative. I can only do pretty shots LOL. I am those sort of person who would crack up inevitably if there is a camera around. Well, I haven't even learnt how to perfect my smiles!

Under peer pressure, I had to come up with silly poses with them and this was my best action photographed:

*high kick for the wing chun master!*

Guess I have got to re-learn some stability and balance from the 詠春 (wing chun) master! LOL. If I weren't wearing jeans, my leg could have gone up much higher. I swear.

Everyone should visit the wax museum if they plan to holiday in HK. Although there are some wax figures that don't really look like the real person IMO, most of them look SO REAL! It's in the eyes!

I went up the Peak via the public bus, which was pretty scary because we took a double decker (imagine a double decker riding up steep slopes *gasps*) - especially if these slopes are much steeper than the slopes at Genting. Some of us felt nauseous riding up the peak. So if you plan to go, do not take the public bus. Instead, shuttle buses or mini buses are better alternatives. Taxis do go up there but be prepared to pay a higher rate (quite affordable still!).

Check out the city scene behind us. My favourite shot so far <3

Experiencing Hong Kong from the highest point!

Here are more magnificent jump shots to share!!!!
Our hands and fingers were numbed by the end of them all. XD

Jump shot - the ipod style!

my casual outfit for the night. Wearing my new comfy knit throwover from H&M Hong Kong.

Got it affordably at their christmas sale at TST! H&M at HK is much less hyped as compared to internationally, which came to me as a surprise. H&M at SG is sooooo hyped, and classy - large doors, high ceiling, polished mannequins.

But that's totally different from H&M HK. H&M HK is more comparable to COTTON ON in SG!

This year's christmas was pretty rushed for me. I was in HK till the 22nd and everyone assumed that I have loads of time to kill. In the end, I had to do last minute christmas shopping and I didn't like it very much. I had to delve into my impulsive instincts - buy buy buy whatever that comes to mind! And that isn't me. :S

As the kids are getting older and older, toys may not be the best present to get. Time to get books for each of them next year!

how was everyone's xmas this year? I presume everyone had a blast (after reading so so many super happy tweets from my tweeps!) as well? :)

lol, the future generation playing rough, tough, and tumble.
NOTE: no one got gravely hurt on xmas that night.

introducing most of the kids!!!

It is really fun to see all the kids mingling with one another. Reminds me of my own childhood back to those good old days.

xmas and birthday cakes, and the kids!

and of course, all the proud parents!

I am really very blessed to have a very close knit extended family. And I do feel very guilty especially this year because I haven't been spending much time with them at those weekly Saturday gatherings. And so, I am extra thankful to spend christmas with my close relatives this year.

Thankful that even though I am so busy chasing my own fancies, I am not forgotten.

Such a doll! My camera LOVES her :)

Going home with bags of presents for everyone!

My cousins are always always always a nice bunch to gum with. I will always see them smiling and having a great deal of Happiness in them, that I also do feel very attracted towards. I guess this is why everyone attends Saturday gatherings without fail (I'm such an exception though).

Now here comes the next generation of little boys and girls. A total of 9 of them, an additional 1 just came into the world a month ago. Will this tradition go on? I would honestly wish that this rare tradition of weekly gatherings would continue, etched into their generation.

Well, you should never forget to thank the main photographers of that christmas evening or any party for that matter. My dear cousin is finally home from Aussie for the holidays. Welcome home! IMO, she is really courageous to take on the overseas route for her undergraduate studies - which is something that I may never consider doing 4 years back. What can I say, I have really courageous and confident yet funky cousins. XD

I shall end this post with -

"How did you spend your christmas?"

Was it cozy, warm, exciting, pretty, sizzling, happy?

Whatever it is, MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A JOYOUS NEW YEAR !!!

Day 1: Changi Airport Singapore - Mong Kok, Hong Kong

WC's present to me XD

Royal Plaza Hotel at Mong Kok

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee !!!

Just like in those typyical HK drama series!

We arrived HK in the afternoon, checked into the hotel, went visiting and had dinner after that.

Here we visited WC's grandparents. Their home was liken to Sg's studio apartment. Just enough space for two people. It was crammed with two double deck beds, plastic bags, every day necessities. I did have thoughts like: one day when I've grown frail, I might be living in such an apartment as well. Either that, or I will want to retire overseas where there're mountains and rivers and grass under my feet.

WC's niece. She's super duper duper super adoooorable!

It was very clear to me that their family bond is very strong. WC told me that even though he was taken care by his grandparents when he was younger, he never had a photo of them. So that day we took tons and tons of family photos, of which I humbly shied from. I was happier to be their camera man.

Day 2: Macao

The first 24hours, we visited Macao by ferry. Some 'agencies' sell their tickets at a much higher rate so it will really pay to scout all possibilities first before deciding!

For whatever reason, my face was SO bloated. Most of the pictures came out nastily faaaat! It could be the weather, and it could also be because I rushed my skincare and make-up prior. Either way, I WAS SO SAD and could only rely on my hair to cover my fat cheeks.

Ruins of St. Paul - Macao

One of the more successful jump shots captured (more to come at my FB!)

Wearing LB's trench that day! Never regret buying this trench that only cost me $70 over.
It shielded me from the chill without looking too ah tiong-ish.

Inside one of Macao's casinos. Honestly, I didn't like it in there...
There was just toooo much cigarette smoke that I almost felt choked... :S
Even the air was full of filth, my throat felt queasy.
But other than that, the architecture and experience of being there were awesome.

Day 3: Another day in Hong Kong, Wax Museum, The Peak

One of the best places of dim sum I've ever tried:

5/5 stars!!!

Self-service dim sum!

We spent more than an hour at this iPhone push cart along the street of HK. Bought many many iPhone covers very cheaply at less than SGD$10 (after bargaining XD). If I remembered correctly, I bought three covers for 110元, which is approximately SGD$6.00 each. After a good moment of bargaining! But unfortunately, the Kate Spade cover did not fit well with my iPhone 4. :(

Expect loads of great deals at the EXPO. I loved the FOOOOOD. Did I also mention that everyone was snatching for food samples, everywhere. From steam buns to finger food!

Check out the layered crusts

This is the other big thing in HK that I miss a lot a lot - Super soft and crispy egg tarts!!!

Assorted sausages. Samples at 10元 (SGD$1.60). Yuuuuum!

The benefits of being a kid!! I swear my legs were already aching by then.
